Garfield and Elvis are another pair of young neutered adult males. Garfield is ginger and Elvis is black. They are both good natured cats. We're looking for a home where they can stay together.

|
 |
Katie is in care for the third time in just over a year, through no fault of her own. She is an adult neutered female, friendly, who would suit a quiet household. |
 |
Ozzie and Smokey are a pair of grey tabby and white neutered males, lovely cats who are ready for a new home.
Ozzie is shown on the left, Smokey is below.

 |
Betty is a plush black cat with a white locket. She's a young adult neuteredfemale. She was a stray for a long time before she came into our care in Summer 2007, and had a hard time, begging for food and dealing with several nasty wounds without any help. It's possible that she might have been abused. We did find a new home for her, but unfortunately it didn't work out, and she attacked her new owner. She needs a home with an experienced cat owner who can deal with abused / difficult cats. She's perfectly friendly most of the time, but is obviously not to be trifled with! |
 |
Chelsea is back in care. She's obviously a timid little cat who needs an understanding and experienced new owner. Chelsea is absolutely fine with her fosterer, who she trusts, and is friendly and playful with her, but she is very nervous with new people, and will need a lot of patience at first. That patience will be rewarded though, as Chelsea has a lot of affection to give to the right owner. She is a dark tortie adult neutered female. |
| Johnny and Mabel came into care a few weeks ago, but Johnny is quite timid and we have been letting him get his confidence back before he's homed. The poor little boy lost a leg before he came into care, we're told that before his accident he was a very outgoing and confident lad, but now he is very shy and hides behind his sister, Mabel. Obviously we need to rehome this pair together. Both of them are neutered. |

Please excuse the photo, it was taken immediately after a long trip from the vets to the fosterer, and Minnie was a bit out of sorts. She's really a friendly and equable little soul, although she does like to exert her authority around other cats, so would be better as an only cat, or with cats who have been used to being bossed around. She's mostly black, with some white markings, and is two years old. She came into care after spending some time as a stray, the family who tried to take her in sadly handed her over to us as she was making life a little too interesting for their older rescued cats. |
 |
Rosie is a lovely, good natured tabby female, about four years old. |
 |
Max is an interesting young neutered male, tabby and white. He is an explorer, and will probably need a new home where he gets lots of attention and play. He will need an experienced owner who is prepared to give him a couple of weeks to settle down in his new home, as he is very nervous of new experiences. |
| Tigger (yes, another Tigger!) is a gorgeous dark tabby boy, about two or three years old, He was abandoned in Preston by his owners, still wearing a collar but no ID. He came into our care with a nasty injury from his collar, but it's been treated and stitched and is healing up well. He's a very friendly cat, and would like a nice new permanent home. |
 |
 |
Jack is back, he was rehomed briefly but things didn't work out. He's a lovely cat, very affectionate with his fosterer. He came from a busy home with three other cats but clearly relishes a bit of peace and quiet and individual attention now. He is a young black and white neutered male. |
| Sasha is an adult tortoiseshell female who came into care because of behavioural problems in her home. She is absolutely fine now, proving that in many cases a problem is due to the situation, not the cat itself. She loves to be fussed over, and is ready for a new, quiet home with an experienced cat owner. She's quite an odd looking little cat, and we hope that this won't put people off from adopting her. |
 |
Thomas has been in our care for a few weeks now, but was not in good health when he came to us, so we've spent a while with him getting him a bit more cheerful again and he's now a fine cat looking for a loving home. He's a middle aged neutered male tabby and white, who came into care because he triggered his owner's asthma.
|
 |
Pearl came into care with her friend Molly (who has now been rehomed) because someone in their original home had allergies. She is about five years old, and loves catnip. She is a lovely playful cat who seems to be closer to two years old in behaviour and looks.

 |
 |
Mr Tibbs belonged to an elderly owner who couldn't keep him any longer. Mr Tibbs is only three years old, he's described as a 'steady character' and would make a great pet for a childless couple or a single person with no small kids. |
| Nemo is a young tuxedo style black and white fluffy neutered male. He is very soft and cuddly when he gets to know you. He is about two years old, and was a stray in Preston before he came into our care. |
 |
 |
Minty is an odd eyed white young neutered female. |
| Mickey is a two year old white and tabby neutered male. He is in care because his elderly owners died within a short time of each other, and they had made no provision for his welfare. Please, make sure that your cats' welfare and continuing care is provided for in your will, especially if it is likely that they will outlive you. |
 |
 |
Rosie is a young neutered female, she's black and white and would be a great pet for a more experienced cat owner. She wouldn't be suitable for a home with children. |

If you would like to adopt a cat or cats from us, please
contact the Cat Welfare Officer.
We are looking for kind responsible homes for kittens
and cats that may have already lost one or more homes.
Cats in our care have been neutered, microchipped,
and blood tested for FeLV and FIV. We have also started
their vaccination program, and would expect the new
owner to continue it. All the cats come with six weeks
free PetPlan insurance. Donations are expected from
new owners, in recognition of our costs.
We carry out homechecks for all cats homed by us. We
need more volunteers for homechecking, if you think
you can help, please get in touch.
Adopting a cat or kitten from Cats Protection
Cats are wonderful creatures, aren't they? Its so easy
to be tempted to adopt a cute cat or kitten on impulse,
then find out the hard way that sharing a house with
a cat means something of a change in lifestyle. You
are responsible for the health of another creature,
for making sure that it gets regular vaccinations, that
it is wormed several times a year and treated for fleas.
If its a kitten, its up to you to make sure that it
is neutered at six months old. You have to remember
always to have cat food in stock, and then there's the
worry of vets bills in the event of sudden illness or
accidents. And what about holidays? Have you got friends
willing to take care of the cat, or can you afford the
extra cost of boarding your cat on top of the cost of
your holiday? Keeping a cat costs money and time, and
we are looking for kind, responsible people who understand
this, and are willing to take into their lives a cat
or kitten that may already have lost one or more homes.
When adopting a cat from us, you should be prepared
to make a donation, to tell us about the home you want
to take the cat to, and to allow a volunteer to visit
you to make sure that all is well.
