Sooty came into care with another cat, Charlie (now rehomed), when their owner had to go into sheltered accomodation due to ill health. Sooty is approximately five years old, she is a black neutered female. Sooty is used to other cats and well behaved children.

Sooty
Rupert is an adult, all black, neutered male. He's an affectionate and friendly cat who is very vocal and enjoys a chat.
Winky is a great cat, a 'tuxedo' black and white neutered male, about six years old. We rehomed him as a kitten, but he came back a few months ago when the rehoming didn't work out. We rehomed him again at the beginning of June, but he came back a day later when it turned out that his new owner had a cat allergy. We very much hope that this lovely cat will soon have a permanent loving home.
Henry is a black and white neutered male, somewhere between three and six years old. He came into care after spending some time as a stray. He has a lovely friendly nature and would make a great pet for someone.
Mavis is a six year old black and white neutered female. She has a quiet nature and would makea good pet for a quieter household.
Sammy is a very timid little girl who needs a quiet and understanding home. She is a black and white neutered female, and is about six years old. She was left behind by her owner when they moved away, and is understandably very nervous and unsure of things, she was living outside for a year before she came to us, and who knows what may have happened to her during that time. She needs a home in a safe area where she can go outdoors and gain her confidence again. She is scared of other cats, dogs and children. This cat's trust has been broken, and she needs someone patient to win it again.
Penny has been a stray for some time, but is now safe in our care. Whist she was a stray she was very well looked after by the people who reported her to us. She's a lovely, affectionate brindled tortie & white with soft thick fur. She's about two years old. Penny
milly and molly Milly and Molly came into care together. The vets estimate that they are about three years old. Milly is black and white, Molly is tabby and white. In their short life they have had at least four homes, and have been abandoned and passed around so much that they are understandably a little timid now. The lady who last cared for them, after they were abandoned by her neighbour, assures us that they are affectionate, lovely cats once they get to know you. We need a permanent, safe home for the two of them together, if you can offer a home with a garden away from main roads and railways, please contact us.
Bob is a black and white neutered male, between eight and ten years old. He's a friendly lad who was a great hit with the vets when he was being assessed and treated, and he will make a wonderful pet for the right person. Bob has now been moved from Preston Branch and is available to view at the St Helens Adoption Centre. Details of the shelter are available at http://sthelens.cats.org.uk
Moss is a friendly young female cat who came into care with a litter of young kittens. She is black and white, and would make a great pet.
Tigger is a lovely, playful young neutered female. She's a tabby, and we think she is about a year old. She's ready for a new home now, preferably with other cats.
Tigger (yes, yet another Tigger!) is a handsome tabby and white neutered male. He is about six years old and is good with well behaved kids, but does not like other cats. He came into care after a change in family circumstances.
Smokey and Mitzie came into care together, and we think they've been together all their lives, they may be litter mates. They are both neutered females, and are about seven years old. Smokey is grey, Mitzie is a tabby. They are lovely, soft, affectionate girls. We are looking for a spacious, loving, permanent indoor only home for these beautiful girls to go to together. They have both lived in the US at some point and they were front paw declawed there (an operation which is rightly illegal in the UK). This means that the first knuckle of each toe was amputated, leaving them without claws. They cannot go outside, sadly.
Kittens - we have kittens in care at the moment, please contact us for more details, as things change on a daily basis.

Shown below are four kittens, about four months old, the white and black female has now been rehomed, but we have three black / black & white males who need excellent, permanent loving homes.

Ella and Sam are about three and a half months old, and need a great, permanent home together. Ella is a calico cat, with patches of white, ginger and black. Sam is ginger and white.

If you would like to adopt a cat or cats from us, please contact the Cat Welfare Officer. We are looking for kind responsible homes for kittens and cats that may have already lost one or more homes. Cats in our care have been neutered, microchipped, and blood tested for FeLV and FIV. We have also started their vaccination program, and would expect the new owner to continue it. All the cats come with four weeks free PetPlan insurance. Donations are expected from new owners, in recognition of our costs. We carry out homechecks for all cats homed by us. We need more volunteers for homechecking, if you think you can help, please get in touch. Adopting a cat or kitten from Cats Protection Cats are wonderful creatures, aren't they? Its so easy to be tempted to adopt a cute cat or kitten on impulse, then find out the hard way that sharing a house with a cat means something of a change in lifestyle. You are responsible for the health of another creature, for making sure that it gets regular vaccinations, that it is wormed several times a year and treated for fleas. If its a kitten, its up to you to make sure that it is neutered at six months old. You have to remember always to have cat food in stock, and then there's the worry of vets bills in the event of sudden illness or accidents. And what about holidays? Have you got friends willing to take care of the cat, or can you afford the extra cost of boarding your cat on top of the cost of your holiday? Keeping a cat costs money and time, and we are looking for kind, responsible people who understand this, and are willing to take into their lives a cat or kitten that may already have lost one or more homes. When adopting a cat from us, you should be prepared to make a donation, to tell us about the home you want to take the cat to, and to allow a volunteer to visit you to make sure that all is well.

Our hope is that every cat that we rescue and rehome lives out the rest of their years in a home where they will be loved and treasured. Jeremy certainly looks settled in his new home.
