Cats Protection, Preston Branch - CAT SHOW

The 2004 Annual Cat Show was held on Saturday 18th September at Penwortham Leisure Centre, Crow Hills Rd, Penwortham.

The Show is a fundraising event for our Branch, and it's a great chance to get everybody together to have a chat, look at some gorgeous cats, and buy lots of great catty items from the stall. It's strictly for non-pedigree cats, which means that a moggy will be Best in Show. The cats are judged in classes depending on their age and colour markings, and the main factors are grooming, looks and temperament.

The full list of results can be found here.

Here are some photographs from this year's show.

TOMMI was this year's Best In Show. He is an eight year old ginger male, owned by Patrick Parr. His superb temperament, gorgeous markings and outstanding friendliness won over the judges. Tommi was a stray that Patrick took into his family.

Benny was judged to be the Best semi-longhair or longhair in the show. He is a five month old tabby and white belonging to Denise McGill.

NALA won the Best Kitten trophy. Nala is a five month old black female kitten owned by Patricia Hewson.

Crowds of supporters, owners and curious members of the public look at the cats in the show.

Soxs, a black and white three year old neutered male, owned by Jayne Connah, seemed to enjoy the show. He loved all the attention.
